THE Shanga Project

SHANGA PROJECT

Empowering Women Through Art & Entrepreneurship

The Shanga Project harnesses the traditional beading skills of Maasai women to create globally sold products such as table mats, keyholders, coasters, and jewelry. Through this initiative, women gain economic independence, using the profits to access quality food, healthcare, and essential resources.

BENEFITS OF THE SHANGA PROJECT

This project also serves as a gathering space, where women meet twice a week to share experiences, develop leadership skills, and strengthen their networks. Working together on community initiatives fosters collaboration, resilience, and problem-solving skills, creating a supportive environment for personal and professional growth.

Through art, entrepreneurship, and community engagement, the Shanga Project empowers women to build self-sufficiency and lasting change.
